Important Announcement

Due to the approaching inclement weather, Pack 15 PWD leadership has decided to reschedule the check-in and races scheduled for tonight and tomorrow until February 12 (check-in) and 13 (races). We will use the same time schedules for the event that were planned for this weekend:

All events at the St. Francis Church building (not the scout hut):
Friday night (2/12) Check-in Cars from 6-8 pm
Saturday morning 2/13 Optional (but not Ideal) Car Check-in from 8-9 am; Races start at 9:00 am

Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause anyone, but the safety of the Pack is our top priority.

Thanks

Clarification on the 5 female slots...it appears the Yorktown overnight is a very popular event and other groups have already signed up to reserve the female slots. If a Mom would like to attend with her boys the sleeping requirements of the Yorktown is that the boys have to sleep in another area away from you. There will be Scout Leaders and other male parents the boys will know from Scouts so we just need to buddy them up with a parent. The other thing that I am asking is that 1 of the 5 female slots be a Mom who would not mind being the responsible adult for someone else's daughter who would be in the same situation as your sons, separated from a parent at bed time. It will be first come, first serve on the female slots. Please note that Mom can still go after the 5 slots are filled, but they would have to get a hotel room and unfortunately the pricing does not change for the Yorktown.

All children must be 6 years old or older to attend.

The excursion to The Powder Magazine will be on our own, so you will need to provide transportation. As we get closer I will e-mail out directions, instructions, etc. so it is very important to put your e-mail on your application form.

Religious Awards

A small group of scouts are working on their religious awards. It is not too late to join the fun. If you are interested, please contact Pat Salley  and she can get you in contact with the other families.

Catholic Religious Awards

If you are of the Catholic Faith, please let me know if your scout is interested in earning the Catholic religious award. There are 2 different awards based on grade level. Most of the work is done at home with a parent. We will then be coordinating with Pack 8 at St. Matthew Catholic Church for sign-offs and meetings with Father Cahill. We will need to have the books completed by mid January, so we should get started soon. See below for more information.
